Step 2…The front half of the trailer.
To make things easier for you to follow, I will describe the construction of the trailer as though you build it from front to the rear. In reality the instructions have building a bit here then a bit there and so on.
So starting at the front, the first thing I did was to assemble the front support legs. You get the option to either have the legs down or folded up. As the trailer will be connected to the Antar tractor unit I constructed the legs in the “UP” position.
Here are the parts that are needed and underneath the picture is a key to what each part is……
30…Leg base plate, 33…Front support leg bracket, 34+35 Front support leg halves, 36…Centre Brace, 37…Centre brace ram, 62…Support leg hinge, 68…Pin handle, 69…hinge pin 83…Firex in holder
The centre brace, ram and support leg hinge were fitted first……
Then the rest of the support leg was fitted…
I then moved up above to the trailer’s “Goose neck”. The parts were removed from their casting blocks and were then cleaned up. Excess resin was first scrapped away before the resin was given a quick polish with a Flory Model’s polishing stick.
These are the parts after they were cleaned up……
41…5th Wheel Plate, 42…hydraulic fluid reservoir, 43…Goose neck cross member,
45…Main Fairlead block, 47….Double pulley 48…single pulley, 65…Deck lashing eye, 82…Jib socket.
The parts fitted to the trailer with no problems….
Next the spare wheel was added to the Goose neck
44…Spare tyre frame, 51…spare tyre retaining bar, 52… spare tyre retaining pin, 79…Spare tyre Jib
Finally the leads that connected to the Antar tractor unit were added, there is a key underneath to tell you what they all do. The leads were made from solder and vinyl tube, both came with the kit. Finally small resin parts were glued to the end of the lines.
